About Pioneer Events

Pioneer Events originated with The Pioneer Collective - independently owned coworking spaces based in Seattle & Tacoma, WA founded by Audrey & Chris Hoyt. The ethos of TPC is to provide crafted spaces for people to get their best work done. The Pioneer Collective emphasizes design, functionality, and a diverse membership base. These spaces transform into Pioneer Event spaces during weekday evenings and weekends. The historic buildings that Pioneer spaces are housed are filled with character and warmth, while the look and feel draws on midcentury modern and organic elements. This translates into beautiful, crafted event spaces for most any type of gathering. Our booking process is simple and streamlined, and our skilled staff help to ensure that each event goes off without a hitch.

Inspiring spaces for cultivating community

A well-planned event can create a magical experience and lasting impact for guests. Events bring people together and facilitate connection; whether that’s to celebrate an occasion, explore the arts, or expand one’s knowledge. In this digital age it’s pretty special to engage in these moments live and in-person. We hope that hosting your event with Pioneer will take some of the stress away from planning & provide a beautiful backdrop for gatherings with loved ones and strangers alike.

Sheila McClung |

Events Manager

Prior to Pioneer Events, Sheila worked as an event specialist in the central Marketing & Communications department at the University of Washington. During that time she managed events on behalf of the President's office and for high-level University donors, as well as student & community engagement opportunities. Some of her favorite event planning experiences at UW include: a keynote lecture by former congressman & civil rights activist John Lewis, the UW Rose Bowl tailgate in Pasadena, and the Recognition Gala; a formal evening in the Suzzallo Library.

Sheila currently lives in Tacoma with her roommate, one sweet cat, and way too many plants. Outside of work you may find her walking or running around her neighborhood & local trails, practicing yoga, arranging flowers, hunting for new records, or enjoying good food & drinks with friends.
